  • Does the app require any setting up

    No. It uses geo location settings within your device and language settings to customise the home screen. Once your system settings have allowed access to location, language, date and time it will fully populate

  • Why does my trending content not appear

    Your trending content will only appear if you are successfully connected to the internet. Your device language setting is used to identify news articles in your language eg, English (United States), Portugues (Brazil). Make sure the correct language and region is selected on your device

  • My weather shows as 'Unavailable' and temperature as 0°

    This service uses your location. Location services must be switched on for your device in your settings panel. Click Settings, then access location, switch on location. NOTE: You must also ensure High Accuracy is also enabled within the Mode setting (Located under the On/Off setting)

  • Can the local dynamic content still work without GPS

    Yes! But you must have 'High Accuracy' location services switched on for your device in your settings panel. Click Settings, then access Location, switch on Location and ensure High Accuracy is enabled

  • Can I use DigiSender LIVE OS on my mobile phone

    We built this user interface specifically for Android TV and Android TV boxes which use a mouse or infrared remote control (Inc. gyro remotes). It will install on mobile devices but if you do not like its operation then you'll know why!

  • How do I ensure apps always appear on the home screen

    You can pin your most used apps to the home screen but you should always remember that your most used apps automatically appear on the home screen in any case. As you become familiar with its operation and as the 'Most Used' apps begin to populate you can customise the Pinned Favourites by accessing the app options. To activate this function long press on the App icon and app settings associated with that specific app become available to you. From here you can choose 'Pinned Favourites'

  • How do I access all my apps in the usual way

    Scroll to the top left Apps logo and click. This will reveal your full apps tray. You can navigate the apps tray using a mouse or regular remote control

  • Why do I see XDS Apps within the user interface

    A number of services are shown but not included or functional because the device you are using cannot support their function. As new services are introduced and compaitible with your device they will show as downloadable and you will have the option to activate the service if you choose

  • What versions of Android can this user interface support

    Because we built this interface using extensive leanback-services it is only compatible with Android versions 5.0 and upwards. Leanback contains a mixture of higher level building blocks such as 'fragments' and some other really clever stuff

  • How do I customize the look and feel of the launcher

    The 2018 version rolls-out from December 2017 allowing you access to a new control panel for the App by clicking on the DigiSender LIVE OS Logo at the top left. We are offering an increasing number of controls over how your app looks and operates. You can choose to display temperature, internet connection status, news feed selections, in fact, an increasing number of customization options which will continue throughout 2018 and beyond

  • How to use the Youtube Big Screen service

    Youtube Big Screen launcher is a built-in YouTube player forming part of the DigiSender LIVE OS Launcher. It calls on YouTube's leanback services with added routines for a smoother performance across remote controlled devices as well as mouse devices. When a series of videos has played in succession pressing the back button on your remote control will take you back to the previous video watched. To return back to the home screen remember to press the Home button on your remote control or long press on the back button. For mouse users short press on the right mouse button takes you back to the previous video and a long press on the right mouse button takes you back to the launcher home screen

  • Videos in the trending section are not opening with YouTube, how do I change the default app

    Go to "System settings", "Apps", "All" then press on the app that is opening the Youtube videos. Press "Clear defaults" to disable this app from opening Youtube Videos.

  • How often is dynamic content updated

    Your content displayed is updated automatically each time you start the user interface. Each day you switch on your home screen it will have dynamically changed but your apps will remain unchanged in their original location


  • How does the dynamic content work

    Provided the user interface knows your location you will receive YouTube and News Feeds from various sources relative to your geographical location. This is subject to the best of our ability but we cannot always provide the best regional based news feeds for all locations

  • Are trending video and news relative to location

    Yes! Trending content is based upon your language setting as well as your location. It will provide trending videos and news feeds in your language together with those of other languages. It is updated every time the main screen is displayed

  • My trending content does not appear after I have set location services on

    If you have switched on location services in your system settings and enabled "High Accuracy" and your trending content does not appear go to "System Settings", "Apps", "DigiSender LIVE OS", "Permissions" and toggle "Location" on

  • How does it know which are my most used apps

    This feature starts to work after you have used your device for a few days or so. The more you use your device the greater the accuracy in correctly showing the apps you regularly use

  • Why can I not change the background image

    The background image changes dynamically as you navigate across the trending news and video articles. Note: This function does not work in Android 5.1 because there is no support library. New features are added on a monthly basis so look out for updates

  • Are there any charges for this service

    No. Use of the DigiSender LIVE OS is free. Only premium charges are applied if you specifically choose to purchase any products or upgrades which will involve a clearly defined and regular check-out process

  • How does the Auto App Start work

    In some instances you may require an app to start automatically. Such applications include digital signage in a restaurant where a movie advert is playing, a live feed broadcast from office and so on. This feature is guaranteed to work on our DigiSender XDS series of devices in order to restore functions following a power failure. To activate this function long press on your chosen app icon and app settings associated with that specific app become available to you. From here you can choose Start-up. This function is Intelligent as it will never attempt to start an app until such time as all background services are up and running. This is essential if you are running complex apps which use or rely on system services and resources. If you are testing this feature you should consider this operational function as you wait for the app to start

  • What are DigiSender XDS Consoles

    XDS consoles are set top box appliances with extensive services relating to video broadcast and reception. All firmware is built by AEI in the United Kingdom and supports a series of real-time broadcast services.They are optimised for video rendering tasks and ideal for the discerning retail consumer as well as many commercial applications within the retail, broadcast, transport and manufacturing industries

  • How do I access Picture-in-Picture

    This function is only available on XDS consoles. Other features unique to XDS consoles include real-time studio link services, broadcasting services and HDMI over internet delivery services

  • How to Change Celsius to Fahrenheit

    Available to everyone on the 2018 version and as an automatic update for Play Store downloads, you'll find access to the control panel by clicking on the DigiSender LIVE OS Logo at the top left. This allows you access to many controls. Customization options will continue to improve with future updates. If you have a specific request then please contact us

  • Does Youtube Big Screen Update

    Because YouTube Big Screen forms part of DigiSender LIVE OS any required updates occur when the Launcher is updated

  • How do I show the 5 day weather forecast

    This is a feature of the 2018 version and when available simply click the weather icon and you are instantly presented with a 5 day weather forecast. The forecast is updated every 3 hours
